Ingo Pape and Mathieu Beckmann's Westfalian licensed stallion Don Allegro has passed away. He was only 6 years old.

Don Allegro was by Don Nobless out of Finesse (by Furst Heinrich x Werther x Castro x Grande x Frustra II). He was bred by Reinhard Jaite.

Stallion owners Ingo Pape and Mathieu Beckmann purchased Don Allegro together as a foal and presented him at the 2016 Westfalian stallion licensing in Munster and at the 2017 Hanoverian Stallion Approval a few months later.

He did his 50-day stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in the autumn of 2017 and scored 8.44 for dressage.

Trained by Lena Stegemann, Don Allegro had only been lightly competed. He made his show debut in June 2018 at A-level in Wohelsbostel. In 2019 he did three shows: Hanstedt, Bülkau and the Bundeschampionate qualifier in Schenefeld which he won with 8.3.

"He was the most talented horse we ever worked with," said Pape about the early demise of the stallion. "A severe hoof illness left us no other choice, despite intensive care by the veterinarians."

Don Allegro stood only briefly at stud as he was mainly focused on sport.

"He always had a special aura," said Ingo. "His positive attitude, his incredible talent for collection combined with a good mood at all times. He was curious to learn and so incredibly willing to work. All this made him a horse, which makes us love our job so much," Pape continued.
