Four Danish bred Trakehner colts have been selected to compete in the 2020 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster, Germany, next October. The venue for the licensing is not yet a certainty due to Covid-19.
At the annual Elite breeding show hosted by the Danish Trakehner Society (DTA) held in Vilhelmsborg on 23 August, the society selected four colts that will be eligible to compete for licensed status at the German Trakehner Licensing.
The annual breed show features sport classes, a mare show, performance test as well as the pre-selection for the stallion licensing.
For the stallion pre-selection, the colts were presented on hard surface, in trot on the triangle as well as jumping in freedom in the indoor school.
The colts selected for Neumunster are
- Barneystein (by Finckenstein x Summertime - bred by Tonny Bang)
- Habanero Selsø (by Ivanhoe x Schwarzgold - bred by Stutteri Selsø)
- Heatwave Selsø (by Schwarzgold x Sixtus - bred by Stutteri Selsø)
- Hallifax Lyng (by Schwarzgold x Aston Martin - bred by Anne Melsen Lyngbye)
One reserve colt has been selected: Knight Sct. Olav (by Rheinklang x Hohenstein - bred by Bennte Retoft).
Also accepted at this show for the 2020 Trakehner Licensing in Neumunster was the German bred nameless colt (by Millennium x Cadeau). Bred by Norbert Timm and owned by British Jody Haswell, he is a full brother to Sir Sansibar.
