The Swiss Equestrian Federation has announced that it will hold one selection weekend at which team candidates can compete for a team place for the 2020 European Youth Championships in Budapest in August.

The Dressage Performance Team of the Swiss federation met and agreed on a selection process for the 2020 EYC. Heidi Bemelmans is the team trainer for the Swiss youth riders.

Switzerland aims to select pony, junior, young riders and Under 25 riders on the condition that there will be no travel restrictions to Hungary due to corona.

A special selection competition will be held at the national equestrian centre in Berne on 18 - 19 July 2020. All combinations will be assessed by three national and international dressage judges after which the selection riders will be announced.

Swiss youth pairs who want to compete at the selection trial need to announce their intent with the federation before 10 July. At the selection event the team test will be ridden on Saturday 18 July and the individual test on Sunday 19 July. The Swiss selectors will take into consideration the results achieved at the selection trial as well as most recent results. The selection standard will be 68% for team members and 70% for individual riders.
