The 5-year old Fiesta Danza OLD and the 6-year old Silberstern became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show in Düsseldorf-Ratingen on 13 - 14 May 2017. Hosted at the riding club Hofgarten Düsseldorf, the qualifier drew out a big field of competitors.
In the 5-year old division Ann-Christin Wienkamp rode Johannes Westendarp's Oldenburg Elite Mare Champion Fiesta Danza (by Furstenball x Weltmeyer) to victory with an 8.0 total. The dark bay mare earned 7 for trot, 9 for walk, and 8 for canter, submission and general impression. The second placed pair scored a 7.8 total which did not suffice to qualify for Warendorf as the minimum criterium is 8.0. Bernd Nöthen and the Hanoverian stallion Dalicanto (by Dancier x Rotspon) were second with 7.8 afte receiving 8.5 for trot, 7 for walk, 8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8 for general impression.
In the 6-year old division Annabel Frenzen and her father's Rhinelander gelding Silberstern (by Silbermond x Raphael) topped the board with 8.0. The dark bay gelding earned 8.5 for trot, 7.5 for walk, 8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Spanish Marco Fernandez-Sanchez and the Rhinelander gelding Poleggio Boy VDH (by Poleggio x Sandro Hit) were second with 7.6. The chestnut gelding got 7.5 for trot, 8 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 6.5 for submission and 7.5 for general impression.
