2009 Bundeschampionate

Special Gold and Sevilla MT were the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the international dressage and show jumping competition in Munich, Germany, May 22-24, 2009.

In the 5-year old division, Dorothee Schneider surfaced at the top aboard Sven Rothenberger's Oldenburg gelding Special Gold (by Sandro Hit x De Niro). The gelding scored 9.0 for trot, 7 for walk, and 8.5 for canter, submissiveness and general impression. Their total score of 8.3 made them winners of the class and qualified them for Warendorf. Former Young Rider Felicitas Kirschner placed second with her own Bavarian bred mare Faccia (by Florestano x Weltmeyer). She achieved a total score of 7.5. Stefanie Maria Rügheimer and the Hanoverian gelding Rubinho (by Rubin Royal x Don Primero) tied in second place with 7.5.

It is great to see that some international Grand Prix riders are taking up the challenge again of publicly competing their young horses. In the 6-year old Dressage Horse division, two Olympians competed their youngsters to take first and second place. Austrian Victoria Max-Theurer rode her own bred Oldenburg mare Sevilla MT to an 8.6 winning score. The Sandro Hit x Rohdiamant mare received 9s for trot and submission. Nadine Capellmann placed second with her Westfalian bred Fürst Rohan (by Furst Piccolo). They scored 8.20 overall having received solid 8s for trot, walk and canter. Jessica Werndl and the Hanoverian bred mare Landliebe (by Londonderry x Lehnsherr) ranked third on 8.0.
