Maximilian Schreiner, a highly respected German equestrian federation, lost his battle against cancer and passed away on 29 May 2026. The Bavarian based photographer covered all major equestrian sport eventsn but in the last decade focused more on photography in his region in South Germany. Born on 9 June 1949 ,Schreiner was married to Margot and leaves behind his wife, children and grand children. His funeral will take place on 26 June at 14h00 in the Neuen Friedhof in Unterstall, Germany.
More Bavarian news, the Bavarian regional equestrian federation has elected Tobias Galmbacher as new chair of the board. He beat Florian Schelle in the vote at the general assembly. Marcel Mahr is the new treasurer.
New Zealand Olympian Melissa Galloway gave birth to a baby girl on 28 May 2026. She and her husband welcomed Maddison Grace Anne Galloway at at 6.58pm that day. "We are absolutely smitten and enjoying our little love bubble," Melissa posted.

Thomas and Lisa Müller, the owners of the south German stallion station Gut Wettlkam, have separated. Lisa married the famous soccer player Thomas Müller in 2009 and he has been supporting her dressage career and investments in horse stock. A former German national team player, Thomas is playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the North American league since last summer. The couple's media lawyer, Christian Schertz, confirmed their split. Lisa Müller is coached by Gotz Brinkmann. The latter has been spending more time at Isabell Werth's farm in Rheinberg. Lisa turned to Isabell for extra training a few years ago and brought Brinkmann along, where Gotz also became Isabell's eyes on the ground.

Horses.nl reported that Dutch rider Anniek de Laat gave birth to a baby boy, named Scott, on 7 June 2026. She and life partner Eric-Jan Verkuil are already parents to Liam, born in 2023.
French Tokyo Olympic team rider Maxime Collard is pregnant. She and partner Jean-Marie Clair are awaiting a baby in the early autumn.
The African Games have been postponed to the second half of 2027. For the first time equestrian sport will be included in them and they are scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt.
Danish Grand Prix rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Stald Magic have acquired the 3-year old Danish warmblood Frydenssangs Splendido (by Secret x Don Olymbrio). The chestnut was presented at the 2026 DWB Stallion Licensing but not selected. Danish Grand Prix rider Cathrine Dufour bought a young black mare with stripe at Roy van den Heuvel dressage in the Netherlands. Name and pedigree are still kept a secret.
An unidentified American Olympic medal winner has acquired the 5-year old KWPN bred Robbedoezz van de Waalsehoeve (by In Style x Toto Jr x Tango).
