Horses & Dreams Event Unites Olympic Gold Medalists, Rising Dressage Stars, and Industry Leaders in Support of Brain Cancer Research
Chestertown, MD – May 27, 2026 – Klaus and Jessica Schengber are proud to announce the auction of a unique, one-of-a-kind signed Breyer model horse to raise critical funds for brain cancer research. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
Deeply Personal
The initiative is deeply personal for the couple.
“This charity is close to my heart because of Angela Barilar, the loss of my nephew Anthony Muserallo, and so many more friends who have suffered from this dreadful disease,” said Klaus Schengber. “Cancer is universal—it touches every community and every equestrian discipline. We are using our love of horses to bring the world together in support of this important cause.”
Horses & Dreams, "Where Everybody Meets"
Horses & Dreams proved to be the ideal location for the project, living up to its reputation as the place “where everybody meets.” At the event, top-level equestrians from around the globe—including Olympic Gold Medalists, up-and-coming Dressage stars, and some of the most influential businessmen in the industry—signed the special Breyer model, creating a powerful symbol of unity and hope.

The winning bidder will receive the coveted signed Breyer horse along with a custom book detailing each individual who signed the model and a beautiful Equigraph created by the well-known equestrian artist Jessica Schengber.
"This auction represents a meaningful way for the global equestrian community to come together against a disease that affects us all," Schengber explained. "My friend Susanne Bünger is continuing the signing of the Breyers at large shows in Germany to benefit Familienhafen Hamburg."
