Swedish dressage rider Cecilia Bergåkra, a NorCordia partner based at Randbøl Dressage Academy in Denmark, has been named on Sweden's short list for the 2026 FEI World Championships in Aachen following an impressive four-star and Nations Cup debut at CDIO Hagen in Germany.
In Hagen, Bergåkra and her 15-year-old mare My Friend helped Sweden finish fourth in the FEI Dressage Nations Cup, posted a new international Grand Prix personal best of 69.543%, and finished seventh in the Grand Prix Freestyle on 74.620%.
Senior Championship Focus
The result came during an important phase of the season for Bergåkra, who is currently ranked number one on the FEI U25 Dressage World Ranking. Despite being one of the favourites for the European Under 25 Championship, she chose to focus on senior Grand Prix sport this summer with the goal of earning a place on Sweden's team for the FEI World Championships in Aachen.

World Championship Short List
Bergåkra described the World Championship short-listing as one of the biggest milestones of her career so far.
"Being named on the short list for the World Championships feels almost unreal," she said. "Just to be selected alongside so many accomplished riders and horses is a huge milestone for us."
She also reflected on her long partnership with My Friend. "To have reached this point together after seven years, from the young horse classes to international senior Grand Prix, means a great deal. I'm incredibly grateful for the trust in us and very excited about what lies ahead," said Cecilia.
