Pony rider Julia Kovari, children rider Zorka Jázmin Tagai, junior rider Hanna Szeivolt, young rider Hanna Hoffer, and Under 25 rider Jazmin Yom Tov emerged as the big winners of the 2026 Hungarian Youth Riders Championships held in Mariakalnok on 6 - 9 June 2026.

Community, Talent and Sporting Success in Máriakálnok

Hungary's most talented young riders had the opportunity to compete against each other in Mariakalnok. The prestigious event not only provided top-level sporting performances in the arena but, thanks to the dedicated organizers, also became a true celebration of the dressage community.

While precise and disciplined tests, as well as closely contested competitions, took place in the dressage arena, riders, families, coaches and supporters were also able to enjoy a variety of social activities, including a dragon boat race on the Mosoni-Danube.

"These team-building events and shared evening gatherings created a wonderful atmosphere, proving once again that dressage is not only about results but also about community spirit," said show organizer Aniko Losonczy.

Team Championship

The team from Pest County finished in second place, while riders representing Győr-Moson-Sopron County secured the bronze medal.

Individual Titles to be Won

The individual championships also produced exciting competition. In the Children Talent category, Bíborka Nedaluha-Mervald and Mózes emerged victorious, while Zorka Jázmin Tagai claimed the Children (L) title aboard Donroyal LE.

In addition to winning the national title, they also topped the Junior Freestyle with an impressive 75.195%. The silver medal went to Alíz Laura Csepeli and Iberia with 72.220%, while Petra Kovács and Fursty claimed bronze on 72.215%, highlighting the exceptionally close competition.

In the Young Riders division Hanna Hoffer and Brown Chocolate HH secured the championship title and went on to win the FEI Young Rider Freestyle with an excellent score of 74.650%. Lilla Felvinczi and Bonjour Majlund followed in second place on 73.795%, while Borbála Panna Czérna and Mezőhegyes Real Black completed the podium with 71.040%.

The U25 category concluded with a strong performance from Jázmin Yom Tov and Jack Black WW, who not only claimed the national championship title but also won the Grand Prix Freestyle with 74.894%. Botond Szabolcs Koszta and De Prince finished second on 67.650%, while István Marschal and Charming Hit secured third place with 66.831%.

Introductory Youth Competitions

One of the special features of the Youth Championships is that, for the second consecutive year, introductory youth competitions were organized alongside the main championship.

Aniko, who is member of the Hungarian dressage committee, explained that "these classes provide younger riders with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with dressage in a fun yet educational environment. It is particularly encouraging to see an increasing number of talented young riders entering the sport, strengthening the future of Hungarian dressage."

Dressage classes for the youngest
Among the youngest competitors, Anna Lili Zsigó and Amber Ace won the 4–10 age group. In the 10–11 age category, Anett Fényes and Csinos claimed the championship title, while Norina Petra Pörös and Fokos Frenki emerged victorious in the 13–18 age group. The young riders demonstrated confidence, skill and enthusiasm throughout the competition, while clearly enjoying every moment of the championship weekend. The youngest competitors were also fully involved in the social activities. They had the opportunity to share the dragon boats with their older role models, cheer for one another and celebrate together. These experiences allowed them to experience first-hand the strong sense of community that remains one of the greatest strengths of Hungarian dressage.

Laying the Foundation

Community and team spirit at the Hungarian Championships
The Hungarian Youth Dressage Championships once again demonstrated the strength of the country’s dressage development program. The confident and technically accomplished performances of the young riders, combined with a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, paint a promising picture for the future of the sport.

The weekend in Máriakálnok was about achievement, development and community—values that make dressage truly special. From the youngest introductory riders to the U25 champions, every participant contributed to making this event a memorable celebration of Hungarian dressage.
