Escamillo has been the most popular breeding stallion amongst Oldenburg horse breeders in 2024 as the German Oldenburg Verband recorded 143 of his offspring born in 2025.

The top 20 of sires with the most foals born in 2025 shows a clear dominance of Paul Schockemöhle's stallion station for Oldenburg breeders.
Escamillo
Escamillo is an 11-year old Rhinelander bred stallion by Escolar out of Casilla (by Rohdiamant – De Niro). He is bred by Carolin Langhorst at Gestüt Tenterhof. Owned by American Kimberly Davies-Slous, Escamillo became a premium stallion at the 2017 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing. Under Spaniard Manuel Dominguez Bernal he won silver at the 2021 World Young Horse Championships in Verden as a 6-year old and to bronze at the 2022 World YH Championships in Ermelo as a 7-year old.
In 2022 Paul Schockemöhle suddenly began offering Escamillo's frozen semen and for the past four years has been managing Escamillo's stud duties. In May 2025 Escamillo was pulled from stud duty to be focused on sport. He competed in two more shows, his last being in Duisburg in July 2025 in his first Grand Prix test (72.240%).
