Eighteen dressage bred colts have been approved at the 2026 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning on 6 - 8 March 2026.

Every year, the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing and CDI/CSI competition at MCH Herning draws a huge crowd. This year, the event attracted a total of 61,266 visitors, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

The stallion licensing is the core element of the Danish Warmblood society. The number of stallions presented for licensing was close to a historic high, and as the judges have highlighted over the past days, the stallions showed outstanding quality.

The dressage licensing committee, consisting of Vicky Nortvig, Johnny Sørensen, Bjarne Nielsen and Rune Willum, approved 18 stallions, of which five received premium status. The Danish warmblood society no longer proclaims a 3-year old champion but names one once the colts are 4-year old and have done the performance test. They are first re-inspected a second time in Herning, the year after their first licensing, for a lifetime licence before a champion is announced.

Nine of the 18 licensed colts were owned by investors via Helgstrand Dressage.
