French Grand Prix rider Camille Judet Cheret had to cancel her start at the CDI-W Basel after getting injured in a riding accident.

The 36-year old Judet fell off a horse on Monday 5 January 2025 and was brought to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a broken vertebrae.

"I fell off a very sweet, gentle and reliable horse," she explained. "In just one second and one spook, nothing violent or impressive, just a bad landing position flat on my back … Just a reminder that our sport is dangerous, that risk zero doesn’t exist with horses, that your life can turn upside down in one tiny instant …"

Camille will be operated on today.

"It’s a difficult moment : pain, disappointment, fear are very high right now," she said. "But I also got lucky, it could have been much worse. I will soon be fixed, take my baby girl in my arms and go home to my horses. I won’t be able to ride for several months, it’s tough on a girl after a recent pregnancy."
