Brand new Bundeschampion Ann-Kathrin Lachemann has to take a short break from riding after she got thrown off a youngster and sustained some injuries.
"I was in the hospital for a few days, but luckily I’m back home now and on recovery," Lachemann told Eurodressage. "With a little patience, everything will be fine again in a few weeks." Despite some injuries, Aki remains cheerful and is already counting the days to start riding again. "Little rest and then I’ll be back in the saddle soon," she added.
The 25-year old Lachemann works at Gestüt Schönweide in the north of Germany and recently became Bundeschampion on the 7-year old stallion Sky.
Originally from the Karlsruhe area, Ann-Kathrin made her CDI debut in 2020 as a young rider aboard Fransje (by United x Silvano N). She trained with Katrin Burger at the time.
Realising a career with horses was her professional path in life, Lachemann was then based at Erdbeerhof, where she worked with Oliver Luze. In 2023 and 2024 she showed Deuerer's Florida's Dream (by Fahrenheit x Diamond Hit) in the small tour and Deuerer's Clara Korn (by Carabas x Lauries Crusador xx) in Under 25. In august 2025 she returned to the CDI ring at small tour level with Schönweide's Oldenburg mare Venecia OLD (by Van Vivaldi x Florencio).
