Kenneth Damgaard has decided to resign from his position as Danish youth team trainer.  He has served in this role for almost two years.

Damgaard succeeded Dennis Fisker as the youth team trainer for the junior, young riders and Under 25 in December 2023.

The Danish equestrian federation announced the news with the following statement:

"It is not an easy decision, but I have chosen to stop as national coach to prioritize my family - especially now that we are expecting a new family member," he said. "I have a desire to be more present at home in the future. It has been a great honor to lead Danish equestrian sport together with my team and work with so many talented, dedicated riders. I look back on a time filled with professional pride, development and community. I look forward to continuing to follow the riders and the sport; this time from the sidelines."

Damgaard detailed his decision-making process more. "It is no longer appropriate for me to take up the post as national coach and at the same time be present for my family as I want it. I have been incredibly happy and proud to be allowed to be a part of Danish equestrian sport, on such a high level. It's been a pleasure working with all the talented riders. Each of them has inspired me to think new and strive for development, both as a rider and for the sport as a whole. At the same time, I'm also looking forward to spending more time at home, both as a rider, coach and teacher."
