Basking in glorious sunshine and a fantastic atmosphere, Oldenburg foals received enthusiastic acclaim from numerous delighted buyers from around the globe at the 2025 Oldenburg Elite foal auction in Vechta on 9 August 2025.

A collection of 82 Oldenburg foals was on offer and 78 changed hands at the 38th Elite Foal Auction, attracting strong interest from both domestic and international clients.

“The outstanding quality of the carefully selected top foals led to a sales rate of around 78 percent and a stable price level, which we are very pleased with,” said auction manager Roland Metz following the entertaining auction.

Highlights

The celebrated price highlight was Versailles B (by Veneno out of Vb.Pr.St. Ratz Fatz by Fidertanz–Sir Donnerhall I–Regazzoni), bred by Antje Belludt from Mechernich. The filly was sold for €71,000 to a major stallion breeder and stud owner in the Netherlands. Despite the lengthy bidding duel, this elegant filly trotted round after round like a metronome. Her dam, Ratz Fatz, is the sister of Emiliano (by Escolar), successful in advanced level dressage.

Easy to Love
Easy to Love (by Escanto PS out of Vincenza by El.H. Vitalis–Desperados), bred by Stefanie Marschall from Bad Grund, lived up to his name. After an exciting bidding contest, auctioneer Christoph Rowoldt sold this stallion prospect, equipped with exceptional impulsion and three outstanding basic gaits, for €40,000 to a promising dressage home. Dam Vincenza is the sister of the 2019 Oldenburg premium stallion Blue Hors Forton (by For Romance II), as well as Victoria, who in 2024 produced the high-priced auction foal Ghostwriter.

Loyal clients from Poland invested €33,000 in the stallion prospect Diademus (by Dynamic Dream out of El.St.Pr.St. Loreley by Fidertanz–Sandro Hit), bred by Georg Toenjes from Bösel. The expressive Diademus is the brother of the licensed stallions Emporio and Du Monde, as well as four Elite Auction horses, including Diamond Dancer, successful in advanced level dressage. Dam Loreley paraded in the Brillantring at the Elite Mare Show in Rastede and is the sister of no fewer than six foal price highlights, including the licensed stallions Double Hit, Diamond Hero, and Diamond Lady, as well as Lord Hit.

Blinding Fox (by Bonds x Don Juan de Hus) stays in Germany for 25,000 euro.

Jumpers

Diademus
Show jumping foals also met with strong demand. Long-time clients from Schleswig-Holstein bid eagerly and secured not only one of the price highlights, Evander (by Ermitage Kalone out of Laola S by Aganix du Seigneur Z–Landadel), bred by Bernhard Schrapper from Grönheim, but also Asta la Vista (by Aganix du Seigneur Z out of Vb.Pr.St. Concoqui by Conthargos–Corrado I), born in Vledder, Netherlands. Dam Concoqui is the sister of three horses successful at international S* level and above. Granddam Kurschatten is the sister to nine show jumpers competing at 1.40 m and higher.

For €15,000, Camelot, a son of the recently deceased Elite Stallion Cador, was sold to Germany. His dam, Carla Bruni, who won the bronze medal at the German Foal Championships in Lienen, herself celebrated success in advanced level show jumping.

Another high-priced lot, Double Speed( by Diablue PS out of Chatendra by Chacoon Blue–Contendro I), will be heading to new clients in Canada. His brother Diarado Blue sold in 2023 for a top price to Great Britain. Granddam Carina is the sister of Curt by Contendro I, successful at 1.60 m level, and Cleo by Concetto, placed at S* level.
