The German Equestrian Federation announced the athlete-and-horse combinations that will represent Germany at the 2025 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany, on 6 - 10 August 2025.
Two selection trials took place: a first one in Warendorf on 23 - 25 June 2025 and the second at the same venue today, 15 July 2025.
As the largest dressage horse breeding nation in the world, Germany gets to send the largest amount of horses to the WCYH with 8 horses per age category.
In the 7-year old division Belgian Under 25 rider Sophie Jamar had qualified no less than two horses for the second trial, but was not able to ride in it because of the FEI age rule which does not allow youth riders to compete in a senior championship (which the WCYH) if they already competed in a European Championship the same year. Jamar represented Belgium at last weekend's European Under 25 Championship in Kronberg.
Striking in the selection is that Glamdale WP, the winner of silver last year, is now "only" second reserve.
