International Dressage Stars to Gather in the Heart of Hungary: CDI-W Fót on 25 - 28 September 2025

The Fót Equestrian Therapy and Education Center, Hungary’s leading hub for equine-assisted therapy, is proud to host the 2025 edition of its  CDI-W World Cup qualifier competition from 25 to 28 September 2025.

With more than two decades of experience organizing top-level national and international dressage competitions, the Budapest-Fót venue has held a respected place on the FEI international calendar since 2006 and has been part of the Central European League World Cup series since 2018.

From emerging talents to elite champions, Fót attracts a diverse field of competitors from across the globe. Whether you're a lifelong equestrian enthusiast or a first-time rider or spectator, this show promises world-class experience in a warm and welcoming environment. Located just 30 minutes from both Budapest’s city center – home to the iconic Parliament and the Danube River – and the international airport, Fót offers the perfect opportunity to combine high-performance dressage with an unforgettable city break.

A Refined Programme Focused on Sport

The 2025 CDI-W Fót will feature a condensed, four-division schedule designed to provide a more relaxed, rider-friendly atmosphere will placing proper emphasis on each class. 

Fot has been hosting CDI competitions since 2006
This year’s categories include:

  • Children,
  • Junior Riders, 
  • Seniors Small tour, and 
  • Grand Prix classes featuring both CDI3* and the CDI-W World Cup qualifier. 

While part of the Central European League World Cup series, the event welcomes riders from all FEI regions to collect World Cup qualifying points. 

Over the years Fót has played host to some of the sport’s most famous and highly respected competitors, including double Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, as well as Olympians Helen Langehanenberg, Lyndal Oatley, Patrik Kittel, and Christrian Schumach amongst others.

The show will also run a national para-dressage competition, reflecting the venue’s mission to promote both para-sport and able-bodied equestrian sport alongside equine-assisted therapy.

Judging Panel Featuring Seven 5* Judges

Judges and officials love Fot. An almost identical panel from
2024 will return to officiate at the 2025 CDI-W

Under the presidency of Dr. Peter Edvi and the direction of Andras Kövy, the 2025 competition brings together one of the most honored and experienced judging panels in the region. 

No fewer than seven 5* FEI judges will serve on the ground jury: Clive Halsall (GBR), Elke Ebert (GER), Leif Tornblad (DEN), Elizabeth McMullen (CAN), Eduard de Wolff van Westerrode (NED), Cara Whitham (CAN), and Bernard Maurel (FRA). The judges will  assisted by judges Anne Prain, Sunil Shivdas, and Barbara Franyó.

The Center offers outstanding facilities, including an Olympic-sized covered arena for warm-up and a spacious competition ring designed to offer a pleasant and calm, horse-friendly atmosphere with low environmental triggers.
