Lothar Scholl was elected to the Board of the German Oldenburg Verband at the delegates assembly in Vechta on 19 June 2025.

Scholl succeeds Silvia Breher, who, after more than six years of board service, is now taking on responsibilities as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Lothar Scholl, from Königswinter, is a practicing physician and psychologist who, together with his wife Esther, has been passionately and successfully breeding Oldenburg dressage and show jumping horses for over 20 years.

Since 2023, Lothar Scholl has also served as a delegate for the breeding region of Rhineland/Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland, where he is particularly committed to representing the interests of Oldenburg breeders. He places great value on fostering open communication between staff, volunteers, and the Oldenburg breeding community.

Ute Walsemann from Meckenheim, formerly the deputy delegate for the breeding region of Rhineland/Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland, will now assume the role of delegate from Lothar Scholl. She returns to a position she is very familiar with, having already held it from 2007 to 2023.
