On 20 - 21 May 2025 the second Dutch team selection trial for the 2025 World Young Horse Championships will take place in Nunspeet, The Netherlands.
More than 100 horses participated in the first selection in April in Houten, where twenty 5-year olds, nineteen 6-year olds and eighteen 7-year olds were picked for the second trial.
This group of horses has now been extended with five wildcard entries, who couldn't make it to the first trial. They are:
- Rose Oatley (GER) on Parero (5-yo by Toto Jr)
- Mette Sejbjerg Jensen (DEN) on Proud James (5-yo by Jameson)
- Rose Oatley (GER) on Opoque (6-yo by All at Once)
- Eric Guardia Martinez (ESP) on One to Remember (6-yo by Secret)
- Sebastiaan Schilpp (GER) on Optimist (6-yo by Toto Jr)
The selection committee, consisting of Johan Hamminga, Alex van Silfhout and Janine van Twist, assess the combinations per age group based on the Finals Test. The best twelve combinations per year are invited to the third and final selection on 10 June in Delft. After that, the team will be announced.
