German Olympic Dressage Team for Paris 2024 Announced

The dressage selection committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) has selected the team that will represent Germany at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Germany was one of two nations that waited all the way to the very end to announce their team. Sweden is yet to name the third team rider and reserve. 

Following the CHIO Aachen results, the German team for Paris will be:

  • Jessica von Bredow Werndl - Dalera BB
    (17-year-old Trakehner mare by Easy Game – Handryk, owner: Beatrice Bürchler-Keller, breeder: Silke Druckenmüller, groom: Franziska Leonhardt)
  • Frederic Wandres -  Bluetooth OLD
    (14-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Bordeaux – Riccione, owner: Hof Kasselmann, breeder: Gestüt Lewitz, groom: Lars Ligus)
  • Isabell Werth -  Wendy
    (Danish warmblood mare by Sezuan – Soprano, owner: Chateau de Fontaine and Madeleine Winter-Schulze, groom: Stefanie Wiegard),
    • Reserve: Ingrid Klimke - Franziskus
      (16-year-old Hanoverian stallion by Fidertanz – Alabaster, owner: Wilhelm Holkenbrink, breeder: Elisabeth Albers, groom: Carmen Thiemann). 

The team will be captained by team trainer Monica Theodorescu and her assistant Jonny Hilberath. Klaus Roeser serves as chef d'equipe.
