Italian professional dressage rider Beatrice Arturi saw her Under 25 ride of 2023, Dark Diamond, be sold to Japan. The black continues its sport career under Yurie Yoshida.

Dark Diamond is 13-year old Bavarian bred gelding by Destano out of Bonita (by Rohdiamant). He is bred by Robert and Petra Knott. He was owned by Gestut Sprehe

Licensed Stallion

Dark Diamond was licensed at the 2014 DSP Stallion Licensing in Munich, but never did his performance test.

Instead he was focused on sport but was only very lightly competed.  In 2016 Nadine Brenner and Michelle Hagman took him out for for some  A-level tests. In 2018 Hagman rode hil at M-level and in 2020 it was Anna Peiro Policarpio who competed him in two PSG classes in Vreschen.

Sabine Rueben produced him to Grand Prix level and showed him in his first Inter II in May 2021 and in the Grand Prix in September 2021.

In 2023 he resurfaced with Sprehe's head rider Beatrice Arturi, first at the CDN Kerken and Essen-Herbergen before heading to CDI Troisdorf for the Under 25 division, but they got eliminated. The pair went on to practice at national level and competed in the Inter II and Short Grand Prix at the local shows in Vreschen, Schwanewede and Wurselen.

In September 2023 they went to the CDI Ornago in Italy, where they were second in all three rounds of the U25 division, scoring between 66.8% and 68.4%

Yurie Yoshida

Dark Diamond sold to Japan in November 2023. He made his national show debut under U25 rider Yurie Yoshida at the Gotemba equestrian center this week.

"Made big mistakes on both days but managed to get 66% at the Grand Prix," Yurie took to Instagram. "I was so happy that so many people commended the quality of Dima! I still have a long way to go, so I'll keep training to maximum."

Yurie is based at the La Hacienda equestrian centre in Japan and is the reigning Japanese Young Riders Champion.  She has competed three horses internationally so far: Engbjerggards Ballestino (by Michellino x Ragazzo) and Peat (by Carano x Michellino - originally named Carambo Hojbo) at junior level and Hexagon's Conquest (by Rubiquil x Weltmeyer II) at Under 25 level in Europe.
