British junior rider Annabella Pidgley has sold her second junior horse, Dibert L, to Dutch pony rider Yasmin Westerink.

Dibert L is a 14-year old KWPN gelding by Vivaldi out of Liberty B (by Balzflug x Zaire). He is bred by

Stephanie Kooijman

The bay gelding first came into the spotlight under former Dutch youth team rider Stephanie Kooijman who competed him between 2015 and 2019.

She rode him nationally at Advanced Medium level in 2016 and at small tour level in 2017. In 2019 she qualified him for the Dutch Small Tour Championships, in which she finished 7th in the consolation final.

Dibert L sold to British pony rider Annabella Pidgley in 2019, whose parents Tony and Sarah were lining up a string of horses for her transition to junior level. They first got Hilus MBH in 2018, Dibert in 2019, Ellie McCarthy's Belafonte in 2020, and Sultan des Paluds in 2021.

Dibert L did his first national test at Advanced Medium level in July 2019 at Addington, but it was Belafonte who took Annabella first down the centerline at international junior riders' level in 2020. Last year she rode Hilus MBH and Sultan des Paluds at the beginning of 2021 and the latter quickly became her top ride, with whom she procured double silver at the 2021 European Junior Riders Championships.

Dibert L made his international show debut at the CDI Grote-Brogel in September and claimed a triple win there. At the CDI Keysoe in October he was second and third. In September he also placed second in a special U21 championship class unique to Britain: youth riders aged 12 to 21 compete against each other in their respective pony, juniors and young riders test for an overall title. Annabella won the title with Sultan and was second with Dibert.

Pidgley's horse band continues to grow as this autumn she added British Olympic medal winner Gio (Charlotte Dujardin) to the barn at Kilbees Farm in Windsor and this weekend Espe (by Escolar x Dimaggio) will arrive home in the U.K. after having been trained in Denmark by Cathrine Dufour.

Pidgley, who gets her weekly instruction from Dujardin (live) and Dufour (video coaching), has now sold Dibert L to Dutch pony rider Yasmin Westerink, who also bought her pony Cognac IX from the family.

"Whilst I’m very fortunate to have wonderful horses in my stable, there comes a time when I have to prioritise balancing school work, training and spending time with the horses. After a lot of conversation we decided to sell the lovely Dibert," Pidgley stated.
