The 10-year old Hanoverian stallion Nymphenburgs First Choice has been sold to German junior rider Kelly-Ann Klenk.

First Choice is a 2011 born stallion by Fidertanz out of Griskana (by De Niro x Noble Roi xx). He is bred by Andrea and Hans-Jurgen Heitmann.

Young Horse Success

Purchased as a youngster by Helmut von Fircks, First Choice was first colpeted by Josefine Witte in February 2016 as a 5-year old.

Von Fircks' head rider Tessa Frank took over in March 2016 and competed him at the 2016 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf, where they were 16th  in the 5-year old division. She rode him through the summer of 2017.

In the autumn of 2017, Leif Hamberger took over the ride briefly, followed by Shereena Satzer.

Small Tour

First Choice in 2016
In October 2018 professional Ann-Christin Wienkamp began competing the stallion at small tour level. They competed at the 2019 CDI Lier, where they won the Prix St Georges and Inter I.

First Choice did not show between the spring of 2019 and the autumn of 2020. He returned to the national arena under Cosima von Fircks in Ankum. Their last start together was in Ankum in February.

Kelly-Ann Klenk

First Choice has now been sold as a junior-young riders horse to German junior Kelly-Ann Klenk.

Klenk started her show career on ponies with Steendieks Commander Bond (by FS Chamebertin x Lukas) and Sun of Soul (by Skargens Spartakus x Destino R), before FEI pony Mister Dornik (by Dornik B x Aratoss) arrived in 2018.

Kelly-Ann and Mister Dornik made their international show debut at the 2019 CDI Exloo, their first and only CDI start so far. At the 2019 German Pony Championships in Zeiskam, they finished 9th.

In 2020 she made the transition to junior rider's level on the 8-year old Dutch warmblood Inspire (by Johnson x Painted Black) with whom she finished in an impressive 6th place at the 2020 German Junior Riders Championships.

Klenk and Inspire did not ride the 2021 Peis der Besten selection trial. With First Choice she will have a second iron in the fire.
