Swedish national Grand Prix rider Ebba Nilsson will be sidelined for at least a month after fracturing a small bone in her hand in a stable accident on 17 June 2020.
The 20-year old Nilsson was in the box with Duiselina, when the mare spooked and squashed her arm.
"Today was not a good day," Nilsson explained. "Duiselina got scared in the stable and jumped on my arm and hand. So now my attachment to the little finger is broken... Won’t be able to ride for 4-6 weeks now. Hope this will go fast."
International Pony Career
Ebba's international dressage career started in her pony time with her first CDI start in June 2015 in Hagen.
She has competed internationally for two years (2015 - 2016). With Roman (by Orchard Red Prince x Vitano) she was a member of the Swedish team at the 2016 European Pony Championships in Vilhelmsborg, Denmark and placed 27th in the Individual Test. She also won silver twice at the Swedish Pony Championships.
She also briefly campaigned the former Swedish team pony B Capriole in May and June 2016, but the selectors preferred her on Roman. B Capriole sold to Germany as a schoolmaster in October 2016.
National Showing
In 2016 the Nilsson family purchased the Swedish Grand Prix team horse Miata (by Lancado x Grasco x Lanthan) as her future ride. The then 17-year old Grand Prix schoolmaster took her from ponies onto horses. In 2017 they showed at national small tour level and in 2018 they gained mileage at national Grand Prix level.
" I rode the upper level classes in Sweden instead (of internationally) to learn as much as I could from him," Nilsson told Eurodressage. "I have been riding younger horses after Miata, who is now retired. He lives the best life just as he deserves."
In 2020 Ebba has been competing the 7-year old KWPN mare Ierella B (by Florencio x Jazz) alongside the 7-year old Hanoverian mare Duiselina (by Duisenberg x Laurie Crusador xx).
