The 5-year olds Fiesta Danza and Fürstenkrone and the 6-year old Lightning became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the 2017 Oldenburg Regional Championships in Rastede, Germany, on 20 July 2017. Thirty-nine 5-year olds and twenty 6-year olds gathered at the castle park in Rastede to earn a ticket to Warendorf.
The 5-year old division was so large that it was split into two groups. The small first group was led by Ann Christin Wienkamp on Johannes Westendarp's Oldenburg mare champion Fiesta Danza (by Furstenball x Weltmeyer). The combination scored one of the highest mark of the Bundeschampionate season so far: 8.9. The dark bay mare earned 9 for walk and trot, 8.5 for canter and 9 for submission and general impression. Tanja Fischer and Claudia Schucan's Westfalian stallion Formel Eins (by Franziskus x Cornet Fever) were second with 8.3. The stallion got 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9.0 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
In the second group Tanja Fischer steered Klaus Crone-Munzebrock's Oldenburg gelding Fürstenkrone (by Furst Fugger x Rohdiamant) to victory with 8.4. The bay gelding got 9 for walk, 7.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 9 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Three horses tied in second place with 8.2: Hof Kasselmann's Oldenburg stallion Dr. Sambuco (by Dr Jackson D x Samba Hit) ridden by Frederic Wandres, Heinrich Ramsbrock's Oldenburg gelding Deserano (by Desiderius x Florestan) under David Lessnig and Lodbergen's Best for Me (by Bretton Woods x Latimer) with Melanie Tewes.
In the 6-year old division Hermann Burger topped the board on Isabel and Jorg Clasen's Hanoverian stallion Lightning C (by Lorenzio x Florencio) with a score of 8.4. The black stallion earned 8.5 for walk, trot, canter and general impression and 8 for submission. Melanie Tewes and Lodbergen's Oldenburg gelding Faradai (by Furstenball x Lanciano) were the runners-up with 8.2. The bay gelding got 8.5 for walk and trot, 8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Sandra Kötter and Bockmann's licensed Hanoverian stallion Danzador (by Diamond Hit x Lauries Crusador xx) completed the top three with an 8.1 score. The dark bay stallion got 7.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 9 for canter, and 8 for submission and general impression.
