Canadian Teams Named for 2016 North American Junior/Young Riders Championships

The Canadian equestrian federation, Equine Canada, announced the young athletes who will represent Canada at the 2016 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) set to take place July 26-31, 2016 at the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, CO.

Three complete teams and one individual, for a total of 13 competitors, have been named to represent Canada in the dressage portion of NAJYRC.

The following riders will compete at the Junior level:

Team Canada

  • Vanessa Creech-Terauds - Fleur de Lis L, owned by Louise Leatherdale
  • Tasia Murray - Kjeld fan Great Beckum, owned by Tasia Murray
  • Alyssa Gaudet - Palladio, owned by Alyssa Gaudet
  • Lindsay Cooper-Kelly - Gizmo, owned by Heather Williams

Chef d’Équipe: Ellen Rumble-Dvorak – Hillsburgh, ON

The following riders will compete at the Young Rider level:

Team Quebec

  • Tanya Strasser Shostak - Super Tyme, owned by Evi Strasser
  • Amanda Aberman - Lexington Star, owned by Joanne Trout
  • Nicole Babich-Morin - Deniros Tyme, owned by Nicole Babich-Morin
  • Mathilde Dumas - Glennfiddish, owned by Johanne Dubé

Chef d’Équipe: Ellen Rumble-Dvorak – Hillsburgh, ON

Team Ontario/British Columbia/Manitoba

  • Alexandra Meghji - Rigo, owned by Diana Belevsky
  • Emily Ferguson (Declared for ON under criteria) - Wrazzmatazz, owned by Sara Hellner
  • Ehren Volk -  Weltino’s Magic, owned by Jennie Hlavacek
  • Nachelle Forde - File Della Caccia, owned by Les Leiman

Individual Competitor: Alberta
