The Swedish dressage horse breeder Per-Arne Persson has been named "Swedish Breeder of the Year" at the 2016 Swedish Stallion Performance Testing, which concluded in Flyinge, Sweden on Sunday 13 March 2016.

Most recently Persson's 7-year old chestnut Swedish warmblood Quatron (by Quaterback x Don Schufro) won the 2015 Breeder's Trophy under Yvonne Osterholm, the award for the highest scoring Swedish bred young dressage horse at the Swedish National Young Horse Championships.

Persson has a highly successful dressage brood farm "Klemedstorp Stuteri" with numerous elite mares. Besides Quatron, he has also bred Bilan (by Bocelli out of Dilber (by Donnerschlag x Gauguin de Lully)) who was competed at the World Young Horse Championships by Minna Telde and Carl Cuypers. A total of five of Persson's breeding products have competed in Verden!

After forty years of breeding, Persson has bred over 90 foals at his yard, which have sold to eleven different countries on four continents. The foundation mare is Romance F (by Romeo xx x Magnat) and he first started with jumper breeding, before switching to dressage.

Persson was named Breeder of the Year by the Swedish warmblood society. Every year, the Swedish Equestrian Federation also names a Breeder of the Year at its annual Riders' Gala. In 2016 Maria Haward (Patrik Kittel's Deja) was the recipient of that title.
