What do you wish for in 2014?

I'm hoping that I can keep Cassidy healthy, happy and ready for competitions.  And that my planned start on education will be just as nice as I hope for!

Lyndal Oatley

Australia
Australian Olympic team rider

Most important event in your equestrian life in 2013?
Simply development. I am working hard on improving my overall test and I now can get higher scores in other movements which at the beginning of the year where not a highlight.   If I can continue in this direction then I am super happy. My scores are now getting higher and my rides smoother,  so this was a necessary step for me that still is ongoing... as it will always be!

Most important happening, evolution or trend in the world in 2013?
The death of Nelson Mandela, one of the most influential and empowering people the world was blessed to know. "There is no passion to be found living small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."

Best and worst tv and radio show
Best TV: I am in love with How I met your Mother, who can not laugh at Barney!!
Worst TV: a charming Swedish show called Paradise Hotel that makes Jersey Shore seem top classy!

Best book, play, concert, movie and CD
I really enjoyed "One Hundred Names" by Cecelia Ahern . I travel so much I enjoy light easy to read books.

What would you like to see changed in the dressage world in 2014?
I would love to see the sport grow and be more marketable. We have many fabulous people and horses, and some great stories to be told, which I think would build the public image in our sport and develop it in the right direction. Sometimes we all focus on what is wrong and drag the sport down with it, but we are very lucky to do what we do, and I don't want our sport to disappear.  In saying that, though,  I would like to hear people on the live streaming slightly less critical.. subjective yes.. but sometimes it boarders on rude. It sometimes sounds more like a forum chat than test explanation and information.

What do you wish for in 2014?
I wish to it to continue as this year is concluding, in a positive direction.
