Sammy Jo, Hanoverian Mare of the Year 2012

The show jumper broodmare Sammy Jo has been proclaimed Hanoverian Mare of the Year 2012 at the Hanoverian Gala Evening held on Friday 12 October 2012.

The 18-year old bay State Premium mare by Silvio x Calypso II x Wendelin I is bred and owned by Bonny-Jasmin Jacobs from Bierbergen, Germany.

Sammy Jo has produced 13 foals so far of which no less than seven are by Escudo I. Embassy I (by Escudo I) is a licensed stallion and his full brother Escudo II is considered one of the most successful show jumpers in Germany. The other Escudo offspring are named Embassy III (FEI Dressage horse under Canadian Mathilde Blais), Emmy Jo, Enzo PJ (jumper in Australia), Enzo RE.  Sammy Jo was also twice paired to Holsteiner Cassini II and those foals are named Casine Royal PJ and Crispy Jo PJ.

This year Sammy Jo produced a Bonne Chance colt named Becks PJ.
