Spanish National Dressage Symposium to be Held on 16 - 17 January 2012

The Spanish Equestrian Federation is hosting a first ever national dressage symposium on 16 - 17 January 2012. Hosted at the Spanish Olympic Committee Headquarters in Madrid, this forum will be a platform for Spanish trainers, riders, judges and officials to meet and exchange ideas.

Spanish senior team trainer Jan Bemelmans and youth riders trainer Ralph Michael Rash will be speaking about the training of young horses up to Grand Prix level as well as on the coaching of junior and young riders. Trainer Luis Lucio will be addressing the audience disclosing a plan to modernize dressage in Spain.

Spanish Equestrian Federation's Technical director Fernando Vizcaino will be heading a session with sport psychologist Alexandre Gordillo on dressage biomechanics and psychological factors influencing high performance riders.

Francesc Corb, who holds a Phd and a Master in clinical biomechanics will discuss the health care of high performance dressage horses and will be assisted by the Spanish dressage team veterinarian, who will speak on the physical and conditional training of dressage horses.

The initiative has received extraordinary response with 140 enrollees so far.
