German Team Selected for 2011 European Pony Championships

After three selection trials -- The Preis der Besten, the CDI Wiesbaden and CDN Neubeeren -- German pony chef d'equipe Connie Endres decided upon her final team which will represent Germany at 2011 European Pony Championships in Jaszkowo, Poland.

Endres selected the following riders:

Jessica Krieg - Danilo, a German Riding Pony stallion by Don't Worry
Grete Linnemann - Cinderella W, a German Riding Pony mare by Constantin
Semmieke Rothenberger - Domino Dancing, a German Riding pony gelding by Derano Gold
Lena Charlotte Walterscheidt - Lord Champion, a Bavarian Riding Pony by Le Champion

The reserve combination is Anna-Lisa Theile on Desmond. Jessica Krieg can also rider her reserve pony Ghost

British Samantha Thurman-Baker won a special award for rider with the best seat and aids.

Stephanie Kooijman and Winston rode a very powerful, expressive test. Her trance based music did not really mark the different movements and could have been more in tune with her horse

Antoinette te Riele and Fleurie finished 6th in the Kur Finals in their first year at junior riders' level

Anne Meulendijks and Ohio (by Indoctro) ranked 7th in the Kur Finals. They rode to beautiful new music

Swedish colleague Kim Lundin braving the horrible weather at Broholm

Broholm became "Mudholm" after three days of non-stop rain

Best Swedish junior rider was Marina Mattsson on Beckham

Samantha Thurman-Baker on Spring Pascal

Luxembourg Michèle Thill on Don Cardinale

15-year old Kathrine Sumborg Christensen was the "junior" on the Danish team. She finished 11th on Anne Kathrine Elkjaer-Holm's Rohmario

Sisters Marie and Julie van Olst sheltered under a big umbrella

Philippa Hutton rode flying changes on Duela (by Dimaggio) with one hand

Chiara Prijs Vitale and Michigan landed a 14th place in the Freestyle finals

Lena Schütte's 7-year old Eloy was not weatherproof. He jumped the puddles at X and got distracted by the bad weather. Very disappointing for Lena who was a first-time German team member
