2010 Imperial Riding Cup

European Pony Champion Antoinette te Riele won the first qualifier of the 2010 Imperial Riding Cup show circuit for Dutch FEI Pony riders on home turf in Weert, the Netherlands, Saturday December 12, 2009.

The first leg was hosted at Stal De Ijzeren Man (owned by Te Riele's grandfather Adri Gordijn). The Imperial Riding Cup show circuit comprises six qualifiers and a finals which also count as Dutch pony team selection trials. Thirty-nine combinations gathered in Weert for this show.

Antoinette te Riele and her palomino German Reitpony mare Golden Girl scored an impressive 75.09% in the team championship test to win the class. The test was judged by Nijskens, Ernes, and van Esch. Te Riele also rode another pony in Weert, though not in competition. She has received the ride on the rising 6-year old German Reitpony Dynasty (by Deinhard B) from her niece Sanneke Rothenberger, who competed the palomino at the 2009 Bundeschampionate.

Other notable rides of the day came from non-A-team members Suzanne van de Ven and Jasmijn Linthorst. Van de Ven finished third on the liver chestnut Welsh pony stallion Majos Cannon (by Marchi) scoring 71,20 %. Jasmijn Linthorst placed fifth aboard Wester Aikema's Adios (69.44%). Lotte Meulendijks, who took over the ride on Boticelli from elder sister Anne a few months ago, placed sixth in Weert with 68.24%.
