At the 2007 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing, the 3-year old Blue Hors Develino (by Blue Hors Don Romantic x Waldsohn) stood in the forefront of a very solid collection of 23 approved colts.
This sporty bay took the champion's title of the 3-year old dressage stallions and is one of 20 youngsters currently passing a 10-days observation test at Vilhelmsborg prior to the breeding season. Blue Hors Develino is bred by Jytte and Hans Knudsen and owned by Blue Hors Stud.
12 of the approved youngsters are of dressage bloodlines, although Develino has allround jumping blood on the dam side. His sire Blue Hors Don Romantic proved his strength in breeding by showing an extraordinarily first crop of typy and elegant strong movers. It was striking that several German and Dutch premium and champion stallions did not make it into the premium ring in Herning.
If one is to mention a stallion that absolutely shone like a star at the 2007 licensing in Herning than Hotline is the name that springs to one's mind. The 4-year old Blue Hors/Schockemoehle co-owned dark bay stallion showed that extra class that all dressage riders and breeders are looking for. Throughout his appearance he stood out as a highly modern stallion of excellent type and demonstrated breathtaking gaits. Hotline was very well presented under saddle by Anja Engelbart, who also took part in the well visited clinic by Danish dressage star rider Andreas Helgstrand.
Herning also features a number of competition riding classes at all levels. In the dressage classes the incredibly handsome black Gribaldi x Schwadroneur son Zardin Firfod ridden by Danish team member, Joachim Thomsen, stood out as the most promising Grand Prix horse at the moment. The pair won both Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I. Thomsen clearly has a talented partner for the international dressage ring.
