Heike Holstein Wins Irish Field Award for Third Time

Heike Holstein was awarded with the 2005 "Irish Field" dressage rider of the year trophy at a lunch in Dublin on Tuesday 28th February 2006. This is her third time to win the award. Heike won a record 10th national title in 2005 having claimed her first national crown in 1990 at the age of 17.

On the international circuit she qualified to represent Ireland at the European Dressage Championships in Hagen with her imposing Hanoverian gelding Welt Adel. Last May Heike placed 9th in the Grand Prix and 2nd in the Grand Prix Special at the Hagen CDI3*. She travelled to Great Britain in July to compete at the Hartpury CDI3* where she was 2nd in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special. Heike and Welt Adel placed 7th at the French CDI3* in Saumur last September.
