The German Trakehner society has hired Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Jurgen Böckmann, Klaus Balkenhol and Carl Cuypers as coaches for the 2017 Trakehner Dressage Initiative, which gives special training to selected combinations on young Trakehner horses.
Organized by the Trakener Competition Sport Group (TTG), the Trakehner Dressage Initiative is a talent search for young Trakehner horses. Four sessions are held in Germany and Austria with highly qualified coaches to help the development of the sport career of young Trakehners.
"With these training initiatives for young Trakehner riding horses, the stepping stone for sportive success will be laid so that we can approve the attractivity for Trakehner breeding," said their mission statement.
At the training sessions, riders will get free expert commentary on their horses as well as be given the opportunity to have their horse professionally photographed and video-taped for marketing purposes.
The first of four training sessions will take place in Stadl Paura, Austria on 12 May, where German A-team rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl will be coaching. Jurgen Böckmann will teach at the second seminar held at Stable Klovensteen in Germany on 14 May 2017. Olympic medalist Klaus Balkenhol will host the third session at his yard in Rosendahl, Germany, on 14 June. Belgian WEG team rider Carl Cuypers was hired for the fourth session on 23 June and this was supposed to be hosted at Hofgut Rosenau, but at that yard and Cuypers recently parted ways, the fourth session might be reformated.
