During the FEI Dressage Committee conference call meeting of 19 December 2016, the committee members made several new key decisions on steward and judges' appointments.

Didier Deschauwer (BEL) is promoted to Level 3 Dressage Steward following a request by the Belgian Equestrian Federation (KBRSF), and approval by the FEI Steward General Jacques van Daele.

The FEI Dressage Committee has received the list of proposed new 5* judges from the Judging Supervisory Panel.

"The 5* Judges were to be asked for their proposals at their annual seminar in January, after which the collected feedback would be presented to the DC," the DC minutes read.

A first one-year extension had been granted to the 5* Judge Ghislain Fouarge (NED) for 2017. In the summer of 2016 Fouarge announced his retirement from judging and officiated his last show at the 2016 European Under 25 Championships in Hagen. However, the Dutch judge has changed his mind and will stay on for another year.

A Technical Delegate needs to be appointed for the WEG 2018 in Tryon, NC (USA) in the beginning of 2017. Frank Kemperman, chair of the FEI Dressage Committee, asked all to come with proposals for the next conference call meeting on 6 February 2017.
