The Norwegian Young Riders team horse Zidana Arkide has unfortunately passed away on 20 March 2013. Catharina Lorenzten Lund and the liver chestnut mare were  steady members of the Norwegian Junior and Young Riders team since 2010.

Zidana Arkide was a Norwegian warmblood bred mare by Don Schufro x Arkedin. She represented Norway at four, consecutive European Junior and Young Riders Championships.

As a young horse, the mare was trained and competed by Stine Gotesen before moving to Line Martinsen, who started her in the junior division.

Catharina Lorentzen Lund took over the ride in 2010 and earned team bronze at the 2010 Nordic Baltic Championships in the junior division. They first represented their country at the European Junior Riders Championships that same year.

The pair made the move to Young Riders' level in 2011 and immediately qualified on the team for the 2011 European Young Riders Championships. The combination gelled gradually and won gold at the 2012 Norwegian Young Riders Championships, as well as triple bronze at the 2012 Nordic Baltic Championships and they contested the 2012 European Young Riders Championships.

In 2013 they earned silver at the 2013 Norwegian Young Riders Championships and finished 10th at the 2013 Nordic Baltic Championships. They were again members of the Norwegian team at the 2013 European Young Riders Championships.

"A wonderful horse is gone from us," a saddened Lortenzen Lund reported. "Life is not always fair. I want to commemorate a horse that changed me in many ways and will always be in my heart. (She was such as a) dear, good girl who always helped fight together with me."
