For the third consecutive year, the dates for the annual European Pony Championships have changed. After Fontainebleau and Arezzo, the Millstreet venue for the Pony Europeans also saw their dates changed due to clashes on the calendar.

The 2014 European Pony Championships in Millstreet, Ireland, were originally announced to take place on 16 - 20 July 2014, but that co-incided with the 2014 CDIO Aachen in Germany.

"Because the originally applied dates were clashing with the European Championships for juniors and young riders, a new date was looked for, and finally agreed upon," FEI Dressage Director Trond Asmyr told Eurodressage.

Grania Willis, FEI press officer, further clarified the situation: "The original application date from Millstreet was 9-13 July, which clashed with the EU CH for J/YR. As a result of this clash, the FEI Bureau allocated the Championships to Millstreet on 16-20 July. However, those dates were not possible for Millstreet, and we have now finalised, in agreement with Millstreet, to have the Championships from 30 July to 3 August, which also avoids a clash with Aachen."

The 2014 European Pony Championships have been rescheduled for 29 July - 3 August 2014.
