In order not to be in conflict with the dates of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the organizers of the 2012 European Pony Championships in Fontainebleau, France, have asked the FEI to change dates.
Next year's European Pony Championships will be held in France and hopes are high that the organisation will be back up to standard compared to the fiasco in Poland at this year's Pony Europeans.
Normally the European Pony Championships are the last weekend of July but the new dates for 2012 are 17-22 July.
July 2012 will be action-packed leading up to the Olympics. The CDIO Aachen will take place 4 - 8 July, immediately followed by the 2012 European Junior and Young Riders Championships on 10 - 15 July 2011.
At the moment the 2012 World Young Horse Championships in Verden are still scheduled to take place 1 - 5 August 2012, exactly at the same time as the Games, but the Verden organizers are looking into pushing the date to mid August.
