2021 French Young Horse Championships

The 4-year old Honey Drop Petits Pres, the 5-year old RM Most Beautiful Boy, and the 6-year old Farbenfroh Fast became the winners of the 2021 French Young Pony Championships held in Fontainebleau, France, on 15 - 19 September 2021.

4-YO: Honey Drop Petits Pres

Seven combinations competed in the 4-year old division and six of them were ranked. The 15-year old Eloise Thomas and Marie Toublanc's German bred Honey Drop Petits Pres (by Diamond Touch x Cebulon) aced the division with three winning scores and one fourth place. The mare was fourth in the confirmation class with 79.00 points, but scored the highest in the finals with 76.200 and 81.400 to generate a winning total of 79.606 points.

Alyssia Vernin and Jean Vernin's Welsh Cob pony Heaven des Allees (by Cathael Caradog x Coednewydd Black Magic) were the reserve champions. He scored 77.00 for conformation and 75.200 and 76.600 in the finals to score a second place total of 76.212 points.

The bronze went to Celestine Delrieu aboard the German registered DS Chantilly (by FS Champion de Luxe x Djibouti YS). This pony got 79.000 for conformation and 72.400 and 75.800 points in the finals, to finish third on 75.061 points.

5-YO: RM Most Beautiful Boy

Nine combinations contested the 5-year old class, which was won by Alizee Roussel aboard Pauline Verdicchio's German bred licensed stallion RM Most Beautiful Boy (by Movie Star x Validos Highlight). The pony was third in the conformation class with 79.500 points and won the finals with 84.00 and 85.200 points, averaging 84.318 points for the champion's sash.

Grand Prix rider Corentin Pottier steered Ismael Gharnit's German bred Dude (by Dimension x FS Champion de Luxe) to the silver medal. The gelding got 78.500 for conformation and placed second in the finals with 78.200 and 83.600 points to finish on 81.500 points.

Amelie Vasseur and Bruno Thomas' French bred Gulfstream Fast (by Under Cover Fast x Be Champion Supreme d'Ete) were good for bronze with 76.879 points. He got 77.00 for conformation and 74.60 and 78.00 in the finals. He is bred by Nolwenn Rouxel.

6-YO: Farbenfroh Fast

The 6-year old age category was the smallest division with just five pairs. Marie Wack topped the board with her own and Nolwenn Rouxel's French bred Farbenfroh Fast (by Under Cover Fast out of a Soliman de Hus dam). The pony was second in the conformation class with 83.50 points and won the finals with 81.20 and 83.40 points to finish on a winning total of 82.742 points. Wack became co-owner of this pony after seeing her on photo as a foal. The pair won bronze at the 2019 Nationals and silver last year. They finally got their gold and the title this year.

Breeder Nolwen Rouxel also collected silver as her daughter Cassandra finished second in the 6-year old finals on their hole bred Follow Me Fast (by Under Cover Fast x Doppelspiel). The pony was third in the conformation class with 82 points and placed second in the finals with 78.400 and 81.000 to finish as runner-up with 80.303 points.

Daphne Bigan and the German registered Crown Cheesecake (by Crown Charm of Royal x Can Dance) finished with bronze on 77.409 points. This chestnut with flaxen mane and tail won the conformation class with 85.500 points but was third in the finals with 75.40 and 77.200 points.
