At the CDI Lier in Belgium, on 27 February - 1 March 2020, Danish pony rider Sophia Obel Jorgensen scored a triple victory on her CDI debut aboard the 2018 European Pony Champion Adriano B.

The 14-year old Obel Jorgensen collected her first experience in the international ring in 2019 with Tina Nissen's 9-year old Danish sport pony Bomgaardens Dooley (by FS Don't Worry).

Helgstrand's Medal Winning Pony

In the autumn Jorgensen's parents decided to get really serious about high performance sport and made an agreement with Andreas Helgstrand and secured Adriano B for their daughter Sophia.

Under Alexander Yde Helgstrand the 14-year old Rhinelander gelding Adriano B (by De Angelo B x Flying Dream) won triple silver at the 2018 European Pony Championships in Bishop Burton and triple gold at the 2019 Europeans in Strzegom.

Before Alexander, Adriano B took Karoline Rohmann to the 2015 European Pony Championships in Malmo. She went on to represent Denmark at the 2016, 2017, and 2018 European Junior/Young Riders Championships with Noosa Melody. In 2016 and 2017 Adriano B was a schoolmaster for Claudia Kjaer, who left the international stage after him and has been showing Fleetwood MP at national level in Denmark.

Adriano B to Take Fourth Rider on a Journey

Adriano B is now taking his fourth rider on an international journey. At the pair's first CDI in Lier, Belgium, they appeared as a seasoned combination, winning all three classes.

They scored 74.238% in the team championship test, 74.955% in the individual and 77.725% in the Kur to Music.

In an interview with Digishots.nl, Obel Jorgensen stated, "this feels really fantastic. They were three good tests and he went really well. Today (freestyle day) he still felt suple and fresh. He's a such a great pony."

Sophia and Adriano B
Sophia was thrilled with their winning freestyle. "The Kur we rode today he has done many times before, but I only practised it once. For me it was a new kur, but the feeling was really good today. Hopefully I can perform well this season at many more shows. This was a good start."

Sophia praised Adriano for his rideability and character. "He is the same every day, he's sweet and he's got it all. I'm mad about him."

The pair of course aims for Danish team selection for the 2020 European Pony Championships, to be held in Strzegom (POL) in the summer.
