Former Dutch team rider Laurens van Lieren has resigned as head rider at Carolyn De Roo-Kooiman's President Dressage Stables at Stad aan het Haringvliet, The Netherlands.
Last year van Lieren successfully concluded his courses at the American Mastery University and has decided to continue his academic development in coaching and management. For that reason Laurens has enrolled in a new study at college this year. In order to focus fully on his studies, the 29-year old rider has decided to resign from his duties as head rider at De Roo's stable.
Van Lieren recently competed President's Avanti at the 2011 World Young Horse Championships in Verden and finished fifth with the United x Farrington offspring. The pair also won the 2010 KNHS Subli Championship and 2010 Horsefood Dressage Talent Competition.
Van Lieren will stable his own horses back at his father Leunis' barn, Stable Hexagon, where he can continue his professional career as rider as well as student in coaching and management.
