Two of the crowd favourites really turned the heat on each other at the 2014 New Zealand Championships and CDI 3* at Feilding and both Grand Prix level classes were decided by the smallest margins. A tough duel between Bill Noble and Vanessa Way took place at the show ground, but in the end Way had her way and rode to the national Grand Prix title.
Canadian Evi Strasser besed the final class, the Intermediaire I Kur to Music, at the 2014 Palm Beach Dressage Derby in Wellington, Florida, on Sunday 2 March 2014. In a field of only three competitors, Strasser and Rigaudon Tyme scored 72.208%. Second place went to Austrian Gabriela Stumpf (AUT) and Finally Love, who finished with a 68.125%. Amy Walker-Basak (USA) and Wagner were third with a 64.917%.
The 2014 Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI-W concluded on Sunday 2 March 2014 with Swedish Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfven and Don Auriello sweeping the Grand Prix Special. Vilhelmson was hot off a win in Friday's Grand Prix before topping the Special with a 77.804%. Second place finisher Caroline Roffman (USA) earned 70.373% aboard her Highness O. Fellow American Lisa Wilcox and Denzello rounded out the top three with a 70.020%.
Adrienne Lyle was back in the winner's circle for the Grand Prix Kur, a World Cup Finals' qualification class, at the 2014 Palm Beach Dressage Derby in Wellington, Florida, on Saturday evening 1 March 2014. Lyle (USA) and Wizard topped the class with a score of 76.525%, just edging out second place finisher Mikala Gundersen (DEN) and My Lady, who finished on a score of 76.125%. Cesar Parra (USA) and Van the Man were third with a score of 74.000%.
Americans Silva Martin and Olivia Lagoy-Weltz topped the leader board in the Prix St Georges and Intermediaire I at the 2014 Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI-W in Wellington, Florida, on Friday 28 February and Saturday 1 March 2014. Martin came out on top with Rosa Cha W in the Prix St Georges, while Lagoy-Weltz aced the Intermediaire I aboard Rassing's Lonoir.
