Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel and Sweetheart FH will not be competing on the German Junior Team at the 2019 European Youth Riders Championships in San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy, in two weeks.

Baumgurtel's mare is not fit to compete. The first reserve, Jana Schrödter and Der Erbe, will substitute.

The 15-year old Baumgurtel is a former double European Pony Champion (2016, 2017) and has been showing in both the pony and junior rider's division this year.

Sweetheart FH is a 10-year old Hanoverian mare (by Scolari x Hohenstein). She was trained by Marcus Hermes, who rides for the Baumgurtel's at their yard Freiberger Hof, up to small tour level and qualified for the 2016 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals but was not show in Frankfurt. In 2018 Lucie-Anouk began competing the mare at M and S* level.

In 2019 the pair finished second in the Preis der Besten and placed twice second and won once at the team selection trial at the 2019 CDIO-J Hagen.

"Last night Sweetheart got cast in her box and in the morning she was found with both front shoes loose and bent," the Baumgurtel family reported on Instagram. "Fortunately the vet did not see any injuries on the x-rays. It's nothing dramatic, but participating in the Europeans is simply too risky."
