French Olympic dressage rider Jessica Michel-Botton has received the ride on the 4-year old KWPN stallion Kayden.
Kayden is Desperado out of Gracy (by Uphill x Jazz). He is bred in The Netherlands by Folkert Nobach and owned by the Belgian company BD Horses, a syndicate of owners which includes Michel's husband Gilles Botton.
The bay stallion was purchased by BD Horse in December 2017 in The Netherlands and was sent to Germany to be saddle broken by Pascal Kandziora in 2018. The young colt received a break over the summer. A few weeks ago he arrived in Jessica Michel's base at Haras de Hus in Petit Mars, France.
After the sale of FEI level horses Hermes and Fusion de Hus, Michel is rebuilding her string of horses with some new, young talent. She is still riding and training Xavier Marie's Dorian de Hus (by Don Juan de Hus) with whom she was a finalist at the 2018 World Young Horse Championships.
"The plans are to begin in the 4-year old classes in France and we think he has the potential to develop him into a very good horse for the World Young Horse Championship," Jessica Michel told Eurodressage. "He is a very kind stallion: very modern type, very good rideability and with the sensibility I like for a very good sport horse."
