The 7-year old KWPN licensed stallion Gunner KS has moved to Helgstrand Dressage in Denmark.

Bred and owned by Annette Kleijwegt and her late husband Arthur, Gunner KS is by Belissimo M x Vincent x Donnerhall.

He was first competed by Laurens van Lieren, but in January 2016 the horse has moved to the stables of horse dealer Nico Witte, where 2015 European Young Riders champion Dana van Lierop took over the ride.

Under Van Lierop, the tall chestnut stallion with a massive canter participated in the 2016 and 2017 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. In 2016 he finished 28th in the 5-year old preliminary test but did not start in the consolation finals. In 2017 he was 7th in the 6-year old Finals.

Van Lierop's last major success on Gunner KS was winning the 2018 KWPN Stallion Competition Final in Den Bosch in February 2018.

The plan was for the stallion to get re-selected for a third time on the Dutch team for the 2018 World Young Horse Championships, but due to an injury in spring he was not fit to get qualified.

Six months ago Madeleine Witte-Vrees took over the ride on Gunner KS to train him to FEI level.

"We have more horses and a company to ride, so we have to stay realistic," said owner Kleijwegt about Gunner moving to Denmark. "Gunner has already taken up a stall at Helgstrand Dressage."
