Fire in the lorry car park at the 2018 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf

A fire broke out in the lorry park at the 2018 Bundeschampionate at the DOKR headquarters in Warendorf, Germany, in the night of Wednesday to Thursday 30 August 2018.

The fire broke out round 3 AM in the morning and the fire brigade was quickly on the scene.

Two lorries and two trailers were involved in the fire. Austrian Asutrid Neumayer lost her entire lorry as well as her big trailer attached to the lorry. All her tack was inside and got lost in the fire as well. The trailer of German stallion owner Ingo Pape got totally burnt, but his lorry is only damaged on the outside.

The parking lot is 20 meters from the stable building and at no point were the horses in danger.

It is assumed that cables lying on the floor short circuited and caught fire, but this fire department will investigate the actual cause.
