Enrico Caruso Passed Away in Barn Fire

The renowned Trakehner stallion Enrico Caruso died at age 28 in a tragic barn fire at Tylord Farm in Vermont, U.S.A. Lightning struck on the stallion barn and caused a sudden fire in the stable, destroying the stallion stable and indoor school of Debra Tyler's Tylord Farm.

Six stallions, including Enrico Caruso and the 2004 Neumunster licensed Cosmopolit (by Peron Junior x Le Duc) perished in this fire.

Enrico Caruso (Mahagoni x Amagun x Konsul) started his career as a breeding stallion at Gestut Hämelschenburg. He was the reserve champion of the Stallion Performance Test and became a successful show horse, competing at S level in all disciplines.

Enrico Caruso became a foundation stallion, having produced Licensing Champion Kostolany (sire of Gribaldi) and elite mares Schwalbenlust His most successful offspring were Bolschoi D, Intermezzo, Kaskano, Thimur, Iwan and Karajan. He

Enrico Caruso had five licensed sons in Germany and five in the U.S. He was proclaimed Elite Stallion by the American Trakehner Association.
