Dressage Judge Bo Ahman Passed Away

Swedish international dressage judge Bo Åhman passed away on 3 July 2018.

Based in Helsingborg, Sweden, Åhman was a 4* FEI dressage judge, a para dressage judge and a young horse judge. The 63-year old Åhman was also active as a trainer and clinician. He had ridden up to Grand Prix level.

Born in 1955 Åhman worked as a bereiter for the Ramseier family in Switzerland when he was 18 years old. He was an officer in the Swedish cavalery for 15 years and then began his own sales and training business. He was a regular clinician and competed up to Grand Prix level himself.

He became an FEI international judge in 2004 and received his 4* status in 2009. In 2015 he passed the exam for the FEI young horse classes.

Åhman judged the North American Junior/Young Riders Championships in 2012, 2016, 2017 and the Nordic Baltic Championships in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 as well as the 2014 FEI World Dressage Challenge in Zone 9, amongst many other international dressage competitions.
