The 10-year old Oldenburg stallion Rubin Cartier has been sold to Patricia Ferrando from Venezuela. The ownership listing with the FEI already transferred in March.

The dark bay stallion was bred in The Netherlands by Frans and Frea Plantaz and is by Rubin Cortes out of Utah (by Gribaldi).

In the German FN database the stallion was listed as owned by Holtwiesche. He did a stallion performance test in Marbach in 2011 and scored 6.98 (with 7.09 for dressage and 6.87 for show jumping), but was not licensed in Germany.

Rubin Cartier was briefly competed by Belgian Tom Franckx in 2013 in the Belgian selection trials for the World Young Horse Championships. However, under Simone van Wijngaarden the stallion went to international small tour level. The pair did two CDI's in 2016 in Lier and Roosendaal but at the latter show the horse was twice eliminated.

Rubin Cartier came into the spotlight due to a long legal battle between the breeder and the rider, who were the owners. The case was eventually settled and the stallion moved to Patrik Kittel's yard to be sold. Under Malin Nilsson the horse competed at five regional shows in Germany. His last test was an Intermediaire II in Ankum in November 2017. The pair finished fourth.

The Venezuelan rider Patricia Ferrando acquired the stallion. The 32-year old Patricia has dual citizenship for Venezuela and Italy. She has competed for Venezuela at the 2009 Bolivarian Games on the now 19-year old Saxonian bred Lunaesch (by Lindenau) and finished fifth. With the 15-year old Hanoverian Alpha's Why Not (by Waikiki x Fabriano) she rode in Wellington in 2013 and 2015. She represented her country at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.

In 2017 she was in Europe and rode in Munich and Fritzens. Alpha's Why Not went into the big tour and the 13-year old KWPN bred Absolute Alonso (by Sandreo x Symfonie) did the small tour. Ferrando has not yet competed internationally in 2018.
